Company History
- TechniGraphics started out as Technicolor Graphic Services (TGS), a division of the "Color by Technicolor" company. The company began working with early GIS systems like GRASS and
MOSS in 1982, progressing with the maturing industry to ESRI's ArcInfo in 1989, and most
recently to the object-based GIS embodied in ArcGIS 9.x.
- In 1994, Technicolor Graphics Services was purchased by Dee and Mary Vaidya. The company
focused on providing a wide range of geospatial products and services.
- During 2002, TechniGraphics applied to be a prime contractor to the National Geospatial-
Intelligence Agency (NGA). A 10-year, Prime Contract was awarded in 2003 and led to explosive
growth for the organization.
- TechniGraphics diversified in 2006 into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) industry with
the purchase of Axiom Systems and the PLM Division of MSC.Software. These purchases added
five offices, almost 100 people and expanded the company into Europe.
- Today, TechniGraphics continues its growth by offering a wide variety of data capture, data management and information visualization solutions. This widening scope of technical graphic
abilities is reflected in the company's name - TechniGraphics, Inc.
